“There is an exclusive Hogwarts Legacy mission on PS5. We don’t want to do that”: Phil Spencer advocates for content equality between consoles – Hogwarts Legacy

The head of Xbox has wanted to make a comparison with PlayStation to exemplify what they do not want to do with Call of Duty.

It has not been the first time that Phil Spencer, head of Xbox, has spoken about the competition and the mode of operation from PlayStation. Weeks ago he pointed out that Sony was growing by making Xbox smaller. However, on the eve of knowing the decision of the regulatory bodies for the purchase of Activision Blizzard, the Call of Duty saga continues to generate debate, and Spencer has made it clear how they want to act.

As reported by the media VGCPhil Spencer has given an interview in Xbox On where he talks about certain aspects of the debate with Call of Duty and the technical and content parity. It is in said conversation where he has talked about the exclusive mission of Hogwarts Legacy that is only available on PS5 currently. At one point in the interview, Spencer says the following: “I sit here today with a great game that has come out in the last two weeks, Hogwarts Legacy.”

“And yes, there is a mission that is available on PlayStation, not available on xbox as part of that, and I know this is part of the industry. That’s not the game we’re trying to play here either.. This is not the skin of a weapon. It’s not about a certain game mode. The same version of the game will be available on all platforms, which is really what we do today,” says Spencer in relation to the debate surrounding the Call of Duty saga.

The Xbox executive gives the example of Minecraft: “For example, if you are a gamer of Minecraft on PlayStation, I don’t think you feel like you have the lower version from Minecraft or Minecraft Dungeons or Legends, which will be out when it is released. We want to make sure those players feel like they have a great experience on the platform they choose to play on.”

Microsoft deals to convince regulators

It was recently that we reported a misunderstanding caused by Microsoft and Nintendo’s agreement for Call of Duty. During a 10 year period, those from Redmond promised to bring the COD titles to Nintendo consoles in case the purchase by Activision Blizzard was closed. However, it has not been the only agreement that Microsoft has obtained, since NVIDIA is no longer concerned with GeForece Now since Xbox games will reach the subscription service.

Microsoft has tried to reach an agreement with PlayStation and it seems that they have not done so yet. Phil Spencer defended the acquisition yesterday, claiming that it would bring more competition to the market, although he has made it clear that it is not a key operation in the future of Xbox. In this way, it was also reported that Microsoft would receive approval from China, which is one of the most important markets for video games.
