There must be a strong opposition in the country; Parties must abandon nepotism: Modi

Lucknow: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has said that he expects a strong opposition in the country. He further added that in order to further strengthen the democratic system in the country, the political parties which are mired in nepotism need to get out of it. Modi was addressing a gathering at Paraukh in Uttar Pradesh’s Kanpur Dehat district. Paraukh is the birthplace of President Ramnath Kovind.

“Traditional political parties are working against him. He has no problem with anyone personally. He wants a strong opposition in the country. Political parties must be prepared to replace family rule to strengthen democracy. Only then will the country’s youth have the opportunity to work in politics,” Modi said.

He added that nepotism was hindering development not only in politics but in all spheres. Modi also accused his nephews in every nook and corner of the country of rallying against him. The Prime Minister reminded that it is the duty of all of us to put an end to such atrocities.

The poor people living in rural areas should also have the opportunity to become the Prime Minister and President of the country. The reason why the Central Government places so much emphasis on rural development is that the strongest workers are in the villages. Modi said the country attaches great importance to the development of villages, the lower strata of the society, farmers, workers and institutions like panchayats. Optical fiber has arrived in the villages and houses and roads are being completed quickly. He added that New India’s pledge and thinking is that rural development should go hand in hand with urban development.
