A salvage program so that the ceramic brick factory, Cersinpat, located in the industrial park of Cutral Co, can be modernized is underway. It consists of the contribution of 200 million pesos, in a first stage. In addition, the replacement of the ceiling in the main nave because it presents severe damage. The contribution will come from Intermunicipal Autarctic Entity El Mangrullo -ENIM- through the municipality.

Mayor José Rioseco together with the president of the Cersinpat cooperative -former Stefani- José Ramírez and the executive director of ENIM, Osvaldo Giménez, explained the scope of this program called Reengineering and Updating of the Ceramic Pole in Cutral Co.

A few weeks ago a delegation traveled to Brazil to visit the factory that will supply the machines to be purchased for Cersinpat. “This government made the political decision, through the ENIM, to make the necessary investment to purchase the machinery, in a first stage that corresponds to the grinding and molding process,” said the Rioseco community chief.

“Together with the machinery, the engineering of the factory will come for training,” Rioseco explained, and he especially asked the workers for their commitment so that they can be trained in the use of the new machinery that will arrive in a few months.

Was the executive director of ENIM, Giménez, who described what the plan will consist of. “It’s a process of planning agreed with the ceramists. The idea is an update and re-engineering, taking into account the knowledge and work of the factory operators and the professionals we hired to carry out the update,” revealed Giménez.

The delegation that traveled to Leme, 250 kilometers from São Paulo, in Brazil, was at the factory that will make the equipment to be purchased and paid for in Reais. Before this instance there were a work of survey, diagnosis, on the raw material, su analysis, samples were made from where it is subtracted. “The idea is to improve the product from raw material to production,” he mentioned.

In the “Américo Verdenelli” Agreements room, the reengineering project was presented.

Already last year a laboratory was set up -approved by the Deliberative Council chaired by Jesús San Martín in the budget- and staff training is carried out. Are three workers who have been receiving training for two months on how to take samples, determine the characteristics of the clay and do the calculations to start production.

“Although the training has not yet finished, you can already see the difference in the quality of the ceramic,” said the ceramicist Ramírez.

At the same time, a structural building analysis and the electrical part were carried out, which is in charge of an engineer specializing in structures to resolve the best alternative solution. It was agreed with the Brazilian supplying company that they will be in charge of the start-up and the training of the operators for handling.

“The process is extremely pleasant. We carry it forward and with the good will of the workers who put the effort to carry it out, “Giménez contributed.

Meanwhile, the president of the cooperative, Ramírez, deeply thanked all the officials because: «today opens a door for us, a possibility to improve the quality of work. We have been fighting for three years, putting in the effort and with our arms up, every day to be able to produce a ceramic and it was costing us more and more each time”.

Ramirez said that «It is not easy to trust a factory that has been hit hard. And we always knocked on their doors (to the municipality) and they gave us an answer. We are very satisfied with the visit to Brazil and with the technology that we will have”.

In this factory are 65 operators who are linked to production. Production at the best times reached an average of 10,000 ceramics. In other words, 12 wagons per shift – there are two shifts of eight hours each – and currently three to four wagons are produced.

«They comply with fixed expenses: electricity, gas, security, transport and what is left we share in equal parts», clarified. What is obtained after paying these expenses is distributed among all the potters.

As for the roof of the ship where the factory is located, it is parabolic about 40 meters long, 10 meters high and about 15 meters wide. The structural problems are serious. “We have been fighting for this for seven years and luckily now it will be repaired,” he concluded.

The factory is the only hollow ceramic brick factory in the province. The workers, after several months of protest, took control and have been carrying it out since 2010.
