The tram drivers divided the order into two parts. The basic part includes the delivery and assembly of 88 displays. But it is also possible to exercise options for another 13 boards – delivered within 6 months from the date of the contract.

The selection of the offer will be determined by: price, warranty period and coverage with paints protecting against graffiti and sticking leaflets. The order also includes maintenance, servicing and warranty repairs. It is also possible to change the inscriptions with the names of stops, clean and wash boards, remove faults and failures. The deadline for submitting bids is April 12. The net value of the order is PLN 7.9 million. The boards should be delivered, installed and commissioned within 15 months from the conclusion of the contract.

Boards with information for passengers are connected to the network and display the next tram departures in real time. Tramwaje Warszawskie uses a system that uses information from satellite transmitters placed in trams. The system processes the data, thanks to which it is possible to predict in how many minutes the tram will arrive at the stop.

This is not the only type of modern passenger information boards at tram stops in Warsaw. The tram drivers have also installed e-paper timetables. These are the first e-paper timetables in Poland – with dynamic information, connected to an advanced forecasting system when the tram will arrive. They operate on-line in several places in Warsaw – they are currently being tested.

The first two e-paper timetables were launched at tram stops at the Warsaw Uprising Museum. Others were located at Plac Zawiszy, at the Marymont Metro station and at the Dworzec Gdański stop.

Each of them consists of two parts – the first one contains the timetable of tram lines with the hour and minute of departure of the next vehicle. It resembles an ordinary printed card that we see at stops. On the second part there is dynamic information – in how many minutes the next tram will actually arrive and in what order. This information is refreshed every few seconds.
