Mahindra and Mahindra, one of India’s leading automakers, has developed a full range of electric SUVs. Their particularity: they all use the same electric platform, supplied by Volkswagen.

Already used by almost all of the group’s electrics, from the Skoda Enyaq to the Cupra Born passing through theAudi Q4 or even the ID.Buzz et ID.Aeroit will also serve as the basis next year for two Ford models, as part of a collaboration between the two automotive groups. A good proof of the versatility of the platform, which was announced as one of its strengths from its introduction in 2018.
This time, it is therefore to Asia that VW is exporting its platform. Mahindra will market 5 SUVs under the XUV (.e8, .e9) and BE (.05, .07 and .09) brands by 2026. The automotive group expects these electric models to represent 20 to 30% of the total of its SUV sales. Although developed in the brand’s European design center in the United Kingdom, these models are not intended to be sold here immediately.
