You can find the complete list of recalled products on the recall.conso.gouv.fr platform. Set up by the Directorate General for Competition, Consumer Affairs and Fraud Prevention (DGCCRF) in April 2021, this site lists all product recalls classified by category (food, hygiene and beauty, home and habitat). Product recalls: a website to find all dangerous products

The list of all product recalls will be available this Thursday on the Rappel conso site, launched by the government.

Pizzas, chocolates, cheeses, ice cubes. All product recalls will now be reported on a single portal from April 1, 2021. It is no longer necessary to hunt for information on websites and in the media to find out if a product is dangerous or defective. An informed consumer is worth two.

A communication problem

The products consumer goods (food, household, childcare, etc.) that present risks to consumer health or safety may be recalled. If the recall is made before the product is put on sale, it will never arrive within supermarkets. But if, unfortunately, a product is recalled after being listed for sale, buyers are obligated to return the product to the store for destruction.

The retailers behind the recalls of products are required to inform public authorities and consumers via their websites, social networks and the media.

Unfortunately, the information passe often through the cracks, leaving many users in the dark.

A website accessible to all

To combat this phenomenon and better inform consumers, the Directorate General for Competition, Consumer Affairs and Fraud Prevention (DGCCRF) has set up a portal listing all product recalls reported in France. This site, rappel.conso.gouv.fr, free and available since Thursday April 1, 2021, is intended to be the single site for product alerts dangerous.

On this portal, reminders of products will be classified under different themes (food, hygiene-beauty, habitat-home, household appliances-tools, etc.) with a photo of the product, the brand, the risk incurred and possibly the batch number and/or the geographical area concerned. Medicines, on the other hand, will be absent from this list. Medicines and medical devices will continue to be declared to the National Medicines Safety Agency (ANSM) within the framework of existing procedures, specifies the Ministry of the Economy.

All this information will be detailed by the professional himself, who will have the obligation to declare all his recalls on this site by filling in a product sheet. Everything therefore rests on the shoulders of companies, which we hope will not take long to react.
