“However, it is clear to us that further developments will have to be made in the future,” said Kaiser at a press conference, promising further relief measures. The payout will amount to a good 10 million euros. “The bonus is paid out in three phases,” explained Social officer Beate Prettner the exact procedure.
The three payout phases
In the first, all Carinthians who already receive social support from the state automatically receive the bonus. The transfers will take place from mid-July. “Around 25,000 households are affected – that’s about half of all beneficiaries,” emphasized Prettner. For all Carinthians who do not receive social support but fall below the specified income limits, an online portal will be activated from August (until November 30th), which will be accessible on the state’s website. All Carinthians who do not receive social support and do not wish to apply for the application digitally or online can contact their municipality from October 1st (until November 30th). The application is then submitted in the same way with the help of the municipality. “We are now also making it possible for people who do not want a direct transfer to their account to receive the 200 euros by post,” announced Prettner.
Who is eligible:
- Carinthians who receive a social benefit (social assistance, housing allowance, etc.)
- Single persons or households with a monthly net income of up to 1,328 euros
- Couples with a net income of 1,992 euros
- For each additional household member, this limit increases by 400 euros net.
