During the intervention in the transmission of control of the National Policethe President of the Republic Gustavo Petro announced that important reforms will be made within the institution that are summarized in 3 important points.
The first will focus on equality between men and women within the institution and will focus on a daily practice throughout the Policewhich will guarantee the role of women, and which must be cared for and protected.
Another point is the process of each uniformed officer within the Police, because according to the president what is sought is that any patrolman, on his own merit, can become a general.

Well, according to the president of the Colombians the purpose is that any uniformed person such as a patrolman can reach the last echelon of the Police for merit and not because he had all the money to carry out his studies.
“That’s why there shouldn’t be a charge to go from one world to the other. Studying in the different schools of the National Police must be completely free for the members of the National Police”, indicated the head of state.
Finally, he assured that it is vitally important to raise the level of education of the uniformed personnel of each institution so that they can have greater capacities in different disciplines in order to show a better police officer.
He reiterated that the capabilities of each man, through his training, is essential to defend citizens and organizations as he has called multicrime.
