these wines could contain pieces of glass, they should not be drunk

If you have recently purchased wine sold by Monoprix or Metro, you must be vigilant. Two products are currently being recalled because they may contain pieces of glass, warns the government site Drink reminder.

The first wine concerned is a red Côtes-du-Rhône 2020 from the Château de Beaulieu brand. Packaged in a 375ml bottle, it was marketed in Monoprix stores across France between January 18, 2022 and February 10, 2023. The batch bears the number L2201801 and the barcode on the label is 3268174014002.

Exchange or refund

The second recalled wine was sold by the wholesaler Metro throughout France from January 18, 2022 to February 10, 2023. This isa red côtes-du-rhône 2019 from the Château Saint Roman brand packaged in a 375 ml bottle. The batch number is L2201801 and the barcode is 3268174014170.

These products should not be consumed as they may contain broken glass which may result in serious injury or adverse reactions. Consumers are therefore invited to bring these wines back to the point of sale for an exchange or a refund. The recall procedure for the Côtes-du-Rhône rouge 2020 Château de Beaulieu will end on February 24, that for the Côtes-du-Rhône rouge 2019 from the Château Saint Roman brand will end on March 3.
