How many employees are there in the national government?

As noted, there are currently almost 500,000 employees in the central government administration, but this number grows to almost four million if we also consider provincial and municipal officials, public companies, state banks, universities and autonomous organizations.

However, public spending specialists warn that even though a strong cut has been announced in items such as public works and transfers to the provinces, and now public employees, the bulk of the spending is concentrated in the retirement system and the salaries of state employees.

According to a report by the consulting firm AnalyticaIn the accumulated January-November period, these two categories represented, respectively, 42% and 12% of total spending.

There are about $5.2 billion accumulated, when the November tax was $4.6 billion.
