Justice investigates the death of two babies who were found buried at dawn yesterday in a house in Cañada de Gómez.
The bodies were buried in the courtyard of Bolívar’s house at 900, in the south of the city, and the mother and a man, whose identities did not come out, were arrested for the act.
Police, firefighters and personnel from the Criminal Investigation Agency worked at the scene in search of the two babies that, it is presumed, their mother would have buried in the patio. Also present at the scene was the prosecutor Gabriela Lescano from the Cañada de Gómez headquarters of the Public Ministry of the Accusation.
Local journalist Pablo Ferrari provided details about what has been known so far to different media in the region. “Around 10 p.m. we learned that the police and firefighters were looking for the bodies of two babies in the patio of a house. We arrived at the place and indeed they were there, in addition to a large number of neighbors, “explained Ferrari and said that while excavations were being carried out at the site, a 39-year-old woman accused of being the mother of the babies was arrested and transferred to the police headquarters. Regarding the woman, Ferrari added that, according to her reports, she had an advanced pregnancy with twins who would have given birth in the last few hours.
The journalist, although not confirmed, pointed out that after midnight, the bodies were found. “Everything indicates that in the first minutes of the day they were found because more police cars arrived, firefighters finished their work and the morgue truck also arrived,” he said.
Although it was not confirmed by investigative sources, according to the local newspaper La Imprenta, the woman, a mother of five children, would have consulted professionals from the local hospital, and according to the neighbors, they would have told her that the girls had malformations, for what the mother would have looked for the alternative of abortion. Another neighbor reported that the woman had interrupted her pregnancy by taking pills on Sunday afternoon.
