Just a few hours after the verdict in the Lucio Dupuy case was known, another event shocked the community of La Pampa once again. A one-year-old baby, in custody with his father, He was admitted to intensive care after receiving a ferocious beating in General Pico.
Although what happened is still being investigated, the father and his sister ended up in custody. Meanwhile, the mother criticizes Justice for taking possession of the child and granting it to her ex-partner. “Supposedly with him, my son was going to be fine”, he claimed.
The event occurred on Sunday night, when the 13-month-old boy entered the guard of the Centeno Hospital in General Pico with multiple fractures, as reported by El Diario de la Pampa. His father and his aunt assured the doctors that it was the result of a fall from a chair.
The next day, the little boy was transferred to Santa Rosa to the pediatric intensive care unit. According to what could be determined, now it is stable but under continuous observation due to trauma to the thorax and abdominal area.
Meanwhile, both adults were charged with injuries. To the man they gave him preventive detention for 60 days and the woman was given house arrest. Now the guardianship is under the control of the maternal grandfather.
“I haven’t seen my baby for two months. Today I had an interview to coordinate the days to see him”, Aixa, the child’s mother, commented to the En Boca de Todos portal. That same Monday she was notified of what had happened when the Local Gender Unit summoned her.
“When I introduced myself, they told me that the baby is in intensive care with a rib fracture, a broken one, a hematoma in the lung, that they take fluid from there with a probe and that his liver has been perforated”, he recounted.
Then, he explained: “I would like to be with my son and I can’t. My dad is there, he informs me that he is well stabilized, they caught him in time and he is out of danger. If they didn’t catch him in time, they would kill him. He and the family do not want the baby. They had to go look for his mother in a patrol car to accompany the baby, she did not want to go. At least my dad is there now.”
In addition, Aixa said that the guard was in charge of the father and the aunt due to false accusations against him: “They placed a restriction on my son without proof. Supposedly with the dad it would be fine. I don’t know with what face the local unit, the judge and the prosecutor were going to give me answers, if my son was killed by the father. They gave it to someone who was going to be okay with it and it ended up on life support. I ask that Justice lift the restriction, that they give me my son, he needs me, I need him”.
Now, Justice, through the Undersecretariat for Children, Adolescents and Family, assesses the baby’s family situationafter the determination of judge Nora Gómez, with the participation of prosecutor Guillermo Komarofky and official defender Mauro Fernández, to arrest those allegedly responsible for the attack
