They begin the preparation of a new sampling frame for household surveys starting with the 2022 Census

Asunción, IP Agency.- The National Institute of Statistics (INE) began a workshop this Thursday with institutions of the National Statistical System to define a new sampling frame for future surveys based on households in Paraguayan territory.

The director of the INE, Ivan Ojeda, pointed out that this process will allow the Central Government to define priorities to define data collection operations in household surveys.

With these measurement priorities and information needs, it will be possible to work on a statistical system with a methodology and rigor that assist public policies, he explained.

Currently, the INE’s Permanent Continuous Household Survey (EPCH) is implemented in 1,666,000 homes and with the results of the 2022 National Census there is new data for the election of representative samples in future household censuses, based on data from population age, urban and rural population, among other scenarios.

On August 21, the data from the 2022 Census were officially presented, with greater detail on the makeup of the population and households in Paraguay. The results show a population of 6,109,644 and 1,749,336 homes.
