They captured a man who was trading 675 species of wildlife alive.

The National Navy reported that in the development of territorial control operations, the Colombian Navy, in coordination with the National Police, recovered the species of wildlife, in the township of Sincerín, municipality of Arjona, department of Bolívar.

This result complied with a search warrant where 617 turtles of the species “Trachemys Callirostris” or hicoteas were found.

In the same procedure, they found 62 birds of different species, including canaries, macaws, little owls, and patates, among others.

In addition to the species found, 200 kilos of snail meat were seized.

During the development of the operation, carried out by troops from the Marine Infantry Battalion Number 13 and the National Police, the subject was captured, who apparently was engaged in the sale and commercialization of these species.

Man must answer for the crime of illicit use of renewable natural resources.

Subsequently, the recovered species were made available to the Regional Autonomous Corporation of the Canal del Dique -CARDIQUE.
