Tegucigalpa, Jan 23 (EFE).- The board owned by the Honduran Parliament was elected this Sunday by opposition deputies to the Honduran president-elect, Xiomara Castro, in a session that was held in a social club about 30 kilometers north of Tegucigalpa. The provisional board of directors that had been chosen on Friday, at the last minute called a session of the deputies for 08:30 local time (14:30 GMT), which was not complied with by the deputies who support Castro, who since dawn today have remained in the seat of legislative power in the Honduran capital.

Jorge Cálix, one of the dissidents of the Libertad y Refundación Party (Libre, left), was ratified as the new president of Parliament, under whose banner Xiomara Castro won the Presidency of Honduras.

Cálix had been elected president of the provisional board in last Friday’s session, with the support of 30 deputies from Libre, 10 from the Salvador Party of Honduras (PSH) and 44 from the ruling National Party, in what constitutes a new political crisis. in the Central American country, before Xiomara Castro assumes power next Thursday.
