The images chill the blood. In a video that went viral on the internet, you can see a girl sitting at the table, next to a plate of food. In the background, a child can be heard crying. She puts down her fork, lowers her hand, and slaps him five times to silence him. “Cut it off. you make me take out”, he shouts and adds: “Shut your mouth”.
The brutal attack on boy of one year and nine months it happened on Wednesday in the town of Melchor Romero, in La Plata. But the filming gained visibility this weekend, ahead of the verdict in the trial for the crime of Lucio Dupuy.
In this case, the mother and aggressor is 17 years old and in the last hours was charged with injuries. The child, for his part, was transferred to a shelter home, where he will remain until Justice rules on his future.
As reported by the news portal 0223, it all started with a complaint for family violence. After her, the personnel of the Directorate of Children and Adolescents of La Plata went to the Melchor Romero 14 Police Station to provide containment.
Once there, they met a 17-year-old girl who had denounced the baby’s father for having taken him from his home without permission. After locating the child, the authorities found that he had several injuries to his face. They also detected blows in the mouth area, swollen lips, two small bruises on the left cheek and a scratch on the right arm.
When questioned, the mother said that the baby “he had fallen off the chair while playing with a cousin”. Meanwhile, the paternal grandmother of the creature explained that her son (the baby’s father) had already requested custody of the baby because he suffered mistreatment from his ex-daughter-in-law.
In addition to the video of the beating, there is a second filming that was recorded minutes after the violent episode. The same was broadcast by the journalist Diego Aramayo: the adolescent is seen, from behind, and the boy sitting on the kitchen counter. She wipes his face roughly in the middle of an inconsolable cry.
The person recording claimed her for the treatment she gives the baby and she replies: “It takes me out”. “You can’t say: ‘It takes me out’. You will end up killing him. You can’t shut him up like this, you knocked his tooth down, bolud…, He is two years old, friend”, he disputes them.
Far from being moved, the mother replies: “It’s okay, it’s the milk tooth, it’s going to grow”.
At the moment, the little one remains in a shelter home despite the fact that the paternal grandmother has already requested custody. “Justice has 180 days to analyze the situation. Although there are relatives interested in taking care of the child, it seems appropriate with the team to analyze the feasibility of all family members before reporting a position to the Family Court No. 1 of La Plata”, they clarified from the direction of Children and Adolescents of La Plata to portal 0223.
