They formalize an agreement to promote the economy of Family Farming in the country

Asunción, IP Agency.- The Minister of Agriculture and Livestock, Carlos Giménez, stated that the alliance formalized with Shopping Multiplaza constitutes a space to promote the economy of the country’s producers focused on Family Farming to offer their products to the final consumer.

It was during the signing of a cooperation agreement between the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock and the consortium of owners of the Multiplaza Km 5 Shopping Center in the city of Asunción, represented by Magda Olivares, general manager.

The head of the MAG highlighted that the agreement formalizes the space that provides the opportunity for Family Farming so that the producer can access a link with the market and the final consumer, without intermediaries.

Giménez maintained that this alliance gives strength to family farming to continue thinking about continuous production, which is the country’s challenge, through the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock, to achieve sustainable agriculture, made difficult by climatic imbalances and other factors.

He stated that these spaces are required so that families can continue working, exploit the land and reach the final consumer and that from that sacrifice, they can have income that has an impact on the economy. It is what the small producer needs, pointed out Minister Carlos Giménez.

«Root Fair»

The agreement between the agricultural portfolio and Shopping Multiplaza was with the objective of establishing inter-institutional cooperation for the marketing of products from Family Farming, at the De Raíz fair, which takes place every Wednesday – Feria Agropecuaria, from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. 00 to 18:00, and on Thursdays, Plant and Flower Fair, from 7:00 to 21:00, in the Central Hall, Tower B, Ground Floor of Multiplaza Shopping, Km 5.

The “Family Agriculture Fairs” are business modalities called “short marketing circuit”, in which organized producers from various departments of the country participate, assisted by the MAG.

The agreement will come into force upon its signing and will be valid for 12 months, and may be renewed by express mutual consent between the parties.
