With the aim of eradicating discrimination in schools, local legislators proposed reforming the first section of article five quater of the Law for the Prevention, Attention and Eradication of School Violence in the State of Hidalgo.
So that the physical and emotional integrity, their intimacy, their privacy, differences due to ethnic or national origin, gender, age, disabilities, social status and health conditions of the students are respected.
“The objective of this initiative is to establish the right of students of an educational institution not to be discriminated against based on their sexual characteristics, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, religion, opinions, sexual characteristics, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression,” they said.
And they added that it is necessary to avoid any type of discrimination, since it violates human dignity and aims to nullify or undermine the rights and freedoms of all members of the educational community.
