The protocol act was attended by the governor of the state of Bolívar, Ángel Marcano; the mayor of the Caroní municipality, Tito Oviedo; the Venezuelan consul in Curaçao, Marisol Gutiérrez de Almeida; the president of the National Electoral Council (CNE), Pedro Calzadilla; the Ombudsman, Alfredo Ruiz; the military high command and other representatives of the national, regional and municipal public powers.

The ceremony opened with the interpretation of the national and Bolívar state anthem, to then make offerings before the statue of General Manuel Piar.

The delivery of the symbolic remains of Piar, collected in Willemstad -capital of Curaçao- was given. Subsequently, the mayor of Caroní, together with Brigadier General Carlos David Abreu Linares, as well as Carmen Rojas de Valdez, Milagros Marcano and the indigenous councilor, Yamilet Beria, proceeded to collect the symbolic remains of the ground that the general stepped on in chief Manuel Piar in Cerro El Gallo de San Félix.

Tito Oviedo stated in his speech, while handing over the symbolic remains collected at the Chirica table to Marcano, that “it is an honor to unite this land with all the lands that General Piar set foot on.”
