Four children have been rescued from a horror house in Texas, where they lived among filth, droppings and rats. The children’s mother and the man who also lived in the apartment face charges of endangering minors.
This Monday, the police of the County of Bexar, Texas, were called to Montgomery Drive by residents who complained of a stench emanating from an apartment. County Sheriff Javier Salazar said when he arrived at the scene, the smell was so strong he thought he was going to find bodies. But when he and his agents entered the house, they found only a mountain of rubbish strewn on the ground, including expired food, insects and droppings. And among this rubbish, three children of the four children living there.
On site lived the mother of four children, a 37-year-old lady who works as an assistant in a hospital, as well as a 33-year-old man. Both have been arrested and face charges of endangering minors, the children being aged between 2 and 13 years old.
When the police found them, the children did not appear to be malnourished, but it was the environment in which they lived that could have put them in serious danger. Indeed, many rats had taken up residence among the filth and shared the life of the children.
