The state president of the Institutional Revolutionary Party (PRI), in Hidalgo, Marco Antonio Mendoza Bustamante, reported sending a request to the Local Board of the National Electoral Institute (INE), to hold debates for candidates for the Senate and federal deputies in the state.

He pointed out that the document was addressed to María del Refugio García López, president of the electoral body in the entity, last Tuesday, April 9, asking that debates be developed, after they have not undertaken this type of mechanisms in the entity, for the federal level positions.

He stated that this type of dynamics, in electoral times, are necessary because there is a contrast of proposals and different ideas are disseminated to the population, which allows for democracy.

On the occasion, Carolina Viggiano Austria, candidate for the senate for the tricolor, highlighted that these types of exercises are carried out in all entities of the country, except in Hidalgo, and it is important so that citizens can decide.

He also expressed his support for the complaint made by the Labor Party (PT), in relation to the harassment that has been evidenced by mayors, government workers and candidates, in the case of the latter, with the aim of “getting off the contest”.

He said, “we accuse the same thing, we also have those pressures, candidates, mayors, colleagues with different responsibilities, Morena acts illegally, it is not respecting democratic rules.”
