They rescue three Venezuelans who were trying to cross the Rio Grande into the US

Two were minors, according to what was reported by the authorities.

The National Institute of Migration (INM) of Mexico announced that in the last few hours they rescued three Venezuelans who were trying to cross the Rio Grande to reach the United States, but who were “fighting against the strong current.”

In a press release they indicated that elements of Grupos Beta from Coahuila and Veracruz were the ones who helped the victims.

In the first case, they rescued two minors and two adults who “due to the fatigue caused by the current of the river, could no longer continue with the irregular border crossing,” they indicated.

Two of them were Venezuelans, one from Peru and one from Uruguay. “Two minors were accompanied by their parents,” they said.

The people were transferred to the INM offices to “continue providing first aid, water and food, as well as continue with the administrative migration process.”

While in a second operation they heard “cries for help from a migrant who was trapped in the current, in his attempt to cross irregularly into the United States.”

At the point known as International Bridge 1, one of the agents entered the river and helped a “man of Venezuelan origin who seemed tired.” They put a life jacket on him and prevented him from being swept away by the current.

His state of health was verified and he was then transferred to the INM office where the administrative process regarding his irregular stay continued.
