Jon Hamblin y Jessica Whinham are being held in the wake of a chilling attempted murder that took place on September 11, 2021 in North Shields, UK. They invited a friend to spend the night at his house and when the man – named Paul Binks– went to sleep, they stabbed and tortured him, causing serious injuries that left him on the verge of death.
As the subject regained consciousness on the couple’s couch, he noticed a large pool of blood surrounding him. He then realized that he had been attacked and noticed a deep wound in his stomach: his intestines were exposed.
The assailants tried hang him with a cell phone charger and Jon Hamblin threatened him by assuring his friend that they would cut out his heart and drown him. Meanwhile, in order to reinforce the torture, the woman played a piece of music that she knew Paul hated.

The couple let Paul Binks escape, who moved -already dying and bloodied- to the house of a couple who helped him communicate with the emergency service.
The victim recounted the shocking sequence to the local media: “I had no strength, my guts were hanging out. I think I went into survival mode. I remember thinking ‘I’m not going to die here, I need to survive’.”
“I remember thinking ‘it’s going to kill me’ and ‘I’m dying’ and Whinham (the young woman) didn’t seem upset at all and was cleaning up,” Binks added.

After reviewing the case,to Northumbria Police discovered that the problem started when Paul warned his friend Jon that Jessica was not reliable. A few hours before the events, Paul he had gone out to buy drugs and told the salesman that he would be sleeping with Jon and Jessica that night. This man warned Paul that his friend’s wife was a troublemaker “who had gotten kids in trouble in the past for unproven accusations.”
It is believed that Jon took his friend’s advice as a personal offense and decided along with Jessica attacking him while he was sleeping. When Paul woke up he asked them for mercy and managed to convince them that he would not say a word about what they had done to him: the aggressors let him go.
The victim was seven wounds, for which he was rushed by air ambulance to a hospital, where he managed to recover.

Pretrial detention and pending sentence
a couple of neighbors found the victim bleeding to death and assisted him until emergency personnel arrived. Subsequently, the individual who witnessed the events testified before the Northumbria Police, which ended up being decisive in arresting the aggressors.
While Jon Hamblin and Jessica Whinham have denied the allegations, the hearing that took place on Wednesday, April 6, determined that they are guilty. Both will stay in preventive prison until sentencing for attempted murder is issued.
