They used minors as prostitutes in exchange for food and money in Ciudad Bolívar

The captures were carried out by members of the Bolivarian National Guard (GNB) and by the Angostura del Orinoco Municipal Police.

Seven citizens were arrested for -allegedly- being related to a network of prostitution of minors; known as “Los Periféricos”, in Ciudad Bolívar, Angostura del Orinoco municipality.

The captures were carried out in two different procedures carried out in the vicinity of the peripheral market of Ciudad Bolívar.

Members of the Bolivarian National Guard (GNB) apprehended three men and three women who were not identified; and officials from the Municipal Police of Angostura managed to locate Y. Ramírez, 19, who would also be a member of the criminal gang.

Multiple complaints would have been filed by the community through social networks, alleging that a group of girls offered sexual services in the peripheral market of the town, being guarded by adults.

Unofficially it was learned that their mothers were aware of the crime, however they were part of the network in exchange for money or food products.

The complainants revealed that the criminal group had two houses set up for the sexual exploitation of minors, who were forced to dress in shorts of the same color to be identified.

The case is being investigated by the Public Ministry.
