Assumption, IP.- The Secretariat of Social Action (SAS) and the National Secretariat for the Human Rights of Persons with Disabilities (Senadis), signed, this Friday, an inter-institutional cooperation agreement, to jointly implement programs and projects that benefit families in situations of poverty, with people with disabilities among its members.

The agreement establishes, mainly, an inter-institutional relationship, in order to coordinate and facilitate the Provision of Services to People with Disabilities in situations of poverty and extreme poverty, and the training and qualification of human resources that perform functions in care programs. People with disabilities.

During the event, the Minister of the SAS, Héctor Cárdenas, pointed out that with this formalization of the work that was already being carried out, through this Agreement, this year, the actions will be intensified. “According to the instructions of the President of the Republic, we must more strongly incorporate people with disabilities into our Programs,” he highlighted.

He also said that a person with a disability within a family in extreme poverty “is a catastrophic situation, especially when the disability is severe because they need a person to care for them and that person who cares for them stops generating income in the home they In fact, it suffers a lot of lack.”

In this framework, the Tekoporã Program will propose a component for people with disabilities from families in extreme poverty, added the head of the SAS.

For her part, the Minister of Senadis, Rocío Florentín, assured that the services offered by both Secretariats of State, both for people in poverty and for people with disabilities, are “quite binding, so creating Programs or components in this case of aid that have to do with the social sector and above all not of welfare but of the rights-based approach,” he said.

The main objective of this agreement is to establish an inter-institutional relationship of mutual cooperation between the Senadis and the SAS, which seeks to strengthen and consolidate the cooperation between the parties for the best institutional functioning and optimal performance of the authorities in the fulfillment of their functions, to through the implementation of plans, programs, projects and activities related or derived from the respective institutional missions, in order to contribute to the fulfillment of their objectives.

In this sense, both secretariats will exchange computer data corresponding to people with disabilities, a module for the care of People with Disabilities will be formulated as an annex to the Tekoporã Operational Manual.
