Dismayed is the educational community of the village of La Cuesta in the municipality of Barbosa, after be a victim of criminals who left their school without computers.
According to the report of the authorities, on the night of Tuesday, February 15, several subjects would have arrived at the educational institution and after damaging the security bars of their windows they entered and 15 laptops were stolenessential for the education of 57 children between the ages of 5 and 14 who attend from preschool to ninth in that institution.
Professor Ángela Grisales, one of the three teachers at the school, indicated that this is not the first time that the thieves “visit” them. Six months ago, the elements necessary for the proper functioning of the the institution’s surveillance cameras, rendering them obsolete.
Grisales indicated that at a time when the management of technological tools (such as computers) is essential for the teaching of students, she and her colleagues were “handcuffed”.
“This was a very important tool for the children. Now it will be to get to work by means of the cell phone and suddenly with some tablets that we have here, but that are misconfigured, outdated and to which maintenance would have to be done that we cannot afford at this time,” he added.
Grisales also indicated that beyond the economic loss, the damage the thieves did in the robbery was immense and still shocks the children and their 45 families.
“The little ones express sadness, every moment they ask me ‘teacher what are we going to do, where are we going to work?’ It is very sad to see the educational rights of students violated in this way and even more so because we are a rural population. The value of these teams as an educational support tool is invaluable.”, he added.
For her part, the Secretary of the Government of Barbosa, Lina Pescador Rubio, rejected this type of abuse against the educational infrastructure and especially against the education of minors from Barbos.
The official also stressed that at the time the authorities They carry out investigations to find the whereabouts of the criminals and recover the stolen items.
