Torrevieja (Spain): Thieves return various holy objects stolen from a chapel in Torrevieja. Diocese President Bishop Jose Munin disclosed that the thieves returned the stolen holy items from the chapel located in Orihuela Diocese after confession.

Thieves broke into the chapel of the Quirón Hospital in Torrevieja in the early hours of Sunday, November 5 and stole many sacred objects, including the custodian where the Holy Eucharist was kept, the cross on the altar and prayer books. Following this, the archbishop called upon the parishes, monastic communities and the faithful to offer absolution prayer for the disrespect of the Holy Eucharist.

Bishop Jose said that the prayers for repentance of those who committed blasphemous acts have been answered and those who have done so have confessed. The bishop said that they had returned everything they had stolen, and made it clear that their details are not being disclosed considering the mysterious nature of the confession.
