Tampere/Riga – The USA and Canada each celebrated their third win in three games at the Ice Hockey World Championships in Finland and Latvia. The Americans beat Germany in Austria’s Group A on Monday thanks to a strong final third 3-2 (0-0, 1-2, 2-0). For the German team it was a narrow defeat against a top team for the third time. In the Scandinavian duel, Sweden defeated hosts Finland 2-1 after a penalty shootout.
