New Delhi: The number of Covid 19 cases per day in the country is close to one and a half lakh. The number of cases has risen in Delhi, Maharashtra and Tamil Nadu. Kovid confirmed to more than 20,000 people in the country’s capital in twenty-four hours. The Delhi Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) will meet tomorrow to discuss imposing more restrictions on the high incidence of the disease. In the run-up to the elections, Uttar Pradesh also saw a 2 per cent increase in test-positivity rates.
The Prime Minister congratulated the teenagers as the number of people between the ages of 15 and 18 who have been vaccinated in the country has crossed 2 lakh. At the same time, Bharat Biotech claimed that it had found that Kovacs’ booster dose could provide long-term resistance. The vaccine has not been found to have any other side effects, Bharat Biotech said in a statement.
In Maharashtra, the Kovid third wave is extreme. There has been a huge increase in the number of patients per day today. A total of 41,434 people were diagnosed with the disease within 24 hours. Half of this is from Mumbai. In the metro city of Mumbai alone, the TPR crossed 28 per cent. Controls have also been tightened in the state in the wake of the rising incidence of the disease. Night curfew announced from Monday. Schools and colleges, except classes 10 and 12, will remain closed until February 15. Parks, museums, tourist attractions, gyms and swimming pools will also be closed. Admission to movie theaters, malls and restaurants will be reduced to 50 per cent. The government has instructed private companies to move from work to home. Otherwise office attendance should be reduced to 50 per cent.
Kovid is also on the rise in Tamil Nadu. The number of infected people daily exceeded ten thousand. In 24 hours, 10,978 people were infected. In Chennai alone, 5098 cases were confirmed. Another 74 were found to be omicron variants. This brings the total number of Omicron victims in the state to 195. The government has imposed strict restrictions on the spread of the disease. The night curfew will continue. There will be a complete lockdown in Tamil Nadu tomorrow. Permission is granted for essential services only. None of the public transport systems, including government and private institutions, will work tomorrow. Government action also continues against those who violate social norms. Police said they will seize the vehicles of those who break the lockdown and file a case.
In Karnataka, the TPR has risen above 10 per cent. Kovid confirmed 7113 more in 24 hours. Weekend curfew continues in the state. There will be no tomorrow, including public transport. Nothing is allowed except emergency services. Metro services were cut. Parcels are allowed from hotels. Those who go to work, including in hospitals, can travel with proof of identity. In the city of Bangalore, the police are conducting a rigorous inspection. Interstate services have also been cut. Schools and colleges were closed days ago.
