This cell phone HAS POTENTIAL | Samsung Galaxy A14 5G

2023-04-28 21:00:00

The Galaxy A14 was launched in January of this year, making use of the brand new Exynos 1330 processor with 4GB of RAM and a 5000 mAh battery installed. Its screen consists of a 6.6″ IPS display, fullHD resolution and 90Hz refresh rate. There is a version of this device with a Helio G80 4G processor instead of the Exynos one, but we won’t talk about it in this post, okay? This version that we have in our hands today is the 5G option of the smartphone.

Moving on to the values, the Galaxy A14 is currently costing a measly R$ 1,000.00 in national storesa surprisingly low number for a product sold within Brazil.

Taking into account that this is a cheap entry-level smartphone, we decided to put it in front of another device that is highly regarded by those looking for a cell phone in this price range: Xiaomi’s Redmi Note 12. The two devices compete a lot in terms of performance and price, making room for a big dispute.

And finally, in case you forgot, the games featured here today were all played on MINIMUM graphics qualityprioritizing performance, since both smartphones are entry-level.

Galaxy A54 test in heavy games

Asphalt 9

So, guys, today we will have Asphalt 9 instead of CarX Street, since neither device managed to install the game, a pity.

The Galaxy A14 scored a reasonable score, staying at the average frame rate of 30 FPS, with 100% stabilityas the game didn’t enable higher framerates than that. His autonomy resulted in 5:05h expected gameplay with graphics at a minimum.

With this, the A14 receives the ⚠️The village Wheels⚠️ on Asphalt 9. Unfortunately the Redmi Note 12 was not tested in this game.

COD Mobile

In our little COD, the result was somewhat controversial since, even though we have a Flat Wheel Seal at the end, the framerate still varied a lot during the Battle Royale match of our test.

The average frame rate of the Galaxy A14 was 53 FPS, with a stability of 99% and autonomy of 5:15 hours.

The Redmi Note 12 stuck at 40 FPS, struggling to run COD with a disappointing stability of 94%.

Diablo Immortal

Here we have a funny case of the video, check it out. Diablo Immortal does release higher frame rates for the Galaxy A14, reaching up to 60, but the device’s processor is simply not strong enough to handle it, as you can see now on your screen.

The A14 scored only 32 average frames, with 97% stability. You can see that the smartphone even tries to reach higher framerates, with peaks of 35, 36 FPS, but it can’t keep up and ends up going down to 30 again. autonomy of the A14 was 4:30h long is the battery

The Redmi Note 12 had a similar result, but now it actually crashes in the 30 frames of the game itself, ending with a stability of 98%.

⚠️The village Wheels⚠️ for both.

eFootball

Nothing special here again, as the two devices we tested completely blew up performance in eFootball.

With a near-feature, the A14 scored an average of 59 frames, with a stability of 100% and autonomy approaching 4:25h of predicted gameplay.

The Redmi Note 12 also achieved a near-feature, scoring an average of 60 FPS, but with its stability of 99%.

Fortnite

At this stage of the test, it will be very easy for A14 to win the dispute. However, don’t get too excited, because the Samsung cell phone’s performance in Fortnite wasn’t the best either and certainly doesn’t open up possibilities for us to play without stress.

His average frame rate was 15 FPS, with a low of 6. The infamous locks didn’t leave cheap for A14, which didn’t allow us to have a smooth stability in this game.

The Redmi Note 12 took the Roda Lixo Seal, we don’t even need to say anything about its lurid performance.

Anyway, ❌No Wheel Seal❌ for Galaxy A14.

Free Fire

If I said that gameplay in Free Fire this time was 100% fluid like all the others, I would be lying. As much as the A14 has obtained “regular” numbers, it is possible to observe in the footage some small and fast crashes, decreasing the FPS for a very short time, but which may be enough to harm your game. Anyway, I wouldn’t say that the A14 is a suitable device for Free Fire, taking into account the immensity that this game runs with 60 FPS spiked.

His average frame rate was 58 frames, with 100% stability and 4:40h of battery life.

The Redmi Note 12 had better results, scoring the classic 60 FPS, with 99% stability.

Genshin Impact

In Genshinzera the numbers were completely disastrous, with the A14 finishing in last place in our game performance ranking.

Galaxy A14 average framerate on Genshin Impact with graphics at minimum was 16 FPS, with a miserable stability of only 52%. His autonomy was established at 4:40h battery life, nothing new here.

The Redmi Note 12 was the one who managed to get milk from a stone, as it scored an average of 33 FPS, with 82% stability. All right, it’s not one of the best performances we’ve ever had here, but you have to give credit to the Note 12, the little bug is trying at least.

No Wheel Seal❌ for Galaxy A14.

Mortal Kombat

In another one of our weekly sessions of disappointment here on the channel, we now have Mortal Kombat. Despite having a screen with a refresh rate of 90 Hz, the Galaxy A14 failed to reach a framerate consistent with that frequency, struggling to run one of the lightest games on our list.

The average framerate of the A14 in Mortal Kombat was 49 FPS, with 100% stability and an autonomy of 5:00h of battery life.

The Redmi Note 12 also disappointed a lot in terms of performance, scoring only 38 frames on average, with 99% stability.

PUBG

Even with the help of our dearest GFX Tools, the Galaxy A14 couldn’t perform well in PUBG Mobile, check it out.

Despite the graphics being at a minimum, the A14 only scored 45 frames average, with 100% stabilitynot allowing us higher framerates, like 60 and 90 FPS. The autonomy of the device was 4:40h of battery life.

Who got the better of this challenge was the Redmi Note 12, which scored an average of 60 FPS, with 100% stability.

Tower of Fantasy

Finishing our battery of tests, we now have one of the worst results of all time in Tower Of Fantasy.

There is no way to have fun in this game using this smartphone, since the performance is extremely unstable 100% of the time. The average frame rate was 17 frames, with only 70% stability and an autonomy of 5:15h.

The Redmi Note 12 managed to turn around smoothly in Tower Of Fantasy, scoring 48 FPS on average, with 59% stability.

No Wheel Seal❌ for Galaxy A14.

Temperature

As in the previous season, we played COD Mobile for an hour with all the graphics at maximum, so that we would know how much battery was lost in that period, as well as the temperature of the device’s screen. After that one hour of gaming, the Galaxy A14 warmed up ????12°C???? on its surface and lost ????16%???? of load.

This temperature rise can harm you on hotter days and on more strenuous tasks than our COD Mobile here. Including, an important thing now is that the more the A14 warmed up, the more sudden stops occurred in COD gameplay, proving that this device does not operate very well under stress.

Conclusion

Unlike the Galaxy A54 we tested two weeks ago, the A14’s Exynos 1330 is much less performing than its older brother. The problem we see here isn’t even performance per se, it’s the lack of compatibility of the chip with the games, thus giving us a stuck gameplaywith lots of stutterings and lags that make no sense, as was the case with PUBG and Mortal Kombat.

I would not directly say that the Galaxy A14 is a bad smartphone, with a below average performance, after all it can do very well in everyday tasks, such as social networks, cameras, screen, etc. What happens is that in games he sins a lot, so it’s impossible for us to recommend it as an ideal device for gamers, even taking into account important points such as cost-effectiveness and longevity.

And before you complain that these problems will be fixed in future updates, remember that the Galaxy A14 was launched in January of this year, almost 5 months ago.

Anyway, if you want a cheap one that runs several games for a long time, opt for a device with a Snapdragon 690, 680, or 778G, since the Exynos are not so reliable unfortunately. ⚠️The village Wheels⚠️ for the Samsung Galaxy A14 5G in our gaming test. It currently ranks third in our entry-level smartphone ranking.
