To celebrate its 5th candle, Hunt: Showdown from Crytek, is currently in big promotion on Steam, seeing its price drop by -60%, and then available for 15.99€. A very good multiplayer FPS, sometimes PvE, sometimes PvP battle royale atmosphere, which will have received a majority of positive reviews, both on Steam and elsewhere. A few weeks before the release of Redfall, which risks giving us the same multiplayer FPS sensations in a dark atmosphere, it’s totally time to dive back into it.
Hunt: What is Showdown?
Released in 2018 and improved by many patches, especially graphically (very beautiful in 2023), Hunt: Showdown is a first-person shooter, multiplayer and survival-horror taking place in the Bayou, these swamps in Louisiana, in the 1890s, but with a touch of Lovecraftian universe. Different players must hunt monstrous creatures as a team and defend their loot against other players.
But what really sets it apart from a Fortnite or an Apex Legends is his universe, relatively hardcore, realistic, dark and intense. Much more immersive and involved in the gameplay, less in the dynamism and fast-paced action, it’s a different kind of battle royale, which really works and has earned it good reviews from players. You will not be in constant action, but more in survival and infiltrationboth you will have to be wary of the ambient demonic creatures that you will have to banish, and of the other players who will be there to prevent you.
A unique and demanding experience, with a still high number of players and developers who continue to support their game, at a price that has never been so accessible, on PC via Steam but also on PS4, PS5, Xbox One and Xbox Series.
A totally topical mix of genres
We are talking about JV news, of course, and this beginning of 2023 is really the revival of survival horror.
