This is how the new plans for Apple’s streaming music service remain

Apple Music is increasing the prices of their plans in Mexico. After keeping an offer practically intact since its launch, the service adjusts its costs both of its individual plan, of the family and even the one focused on students.

This is how their new prices look:

  • Apple Music plan individual por 115 pesos per month (before 99 pesos)
  • Apple Music plan familiar por 179 pesos per month (before 149 pesos)
  • Apple Music student plan for 59 pesos per month (before 59 pesos)

As can be seen, the increase will vary according to each plan, being up to 30 pesos in the family plan, only 10 pesos in the student plan and 15 pesos in the individual plan.

This new price will apply to new subscribers of the service and current ones, in fact Apple has started sending reminders to its users notifying of the increase in the price of the subscription.

Apple Music used to be one of the cheapest music streaming services available in Mexico, but now its prices are on par with one of its biggest competitors, Spotify, which raised their prices after the implementation of digital VAT in Mexico.

In case you’re wondering, Apple One service (which includes all Apple services such as Music, Arcade, iCloud+, tv+ and Fitness´+) maintains the same prices for all its plans.

We’ve reached out to Apple to learn more about the reasons for the increase, and will update this post when we hear back.
