This is the biggest mistake most people make when mopping the floor.

Cleaning the floor is not our favorite task, but it has to be done from time to time. While you can clean a lot with just a vacuum, you definitely need a mop and some water to really get things clean. But did you know that you’ve probably been mopping the entire floor this entire time?

We had no idea we were doing it wrong mopping the floor…

The dirtiest item

Many people think that the toilet bowl or toilet brush is the biggest source of bacteria in the home, but this is not true. The Dutch website Helpling.nl revealed that most bacteria are found on rags. That’s not so strange when you think about it. With the mop, you rub a floor full of dust, hair, food scraps and other dirt. Do you put away your mop without cleaning it? Then the bacteria that are in it will multiply rapidly.

Lavar

Of course, you don’t have to throw away your mop or sponge after every use. If your mop has a removable pad, you can clean it by washing it at 60°C. Do you have a mop that can’t be washed? So you should replace it at least every two months.

These are all great tips for keeping your mop clean, but what’s the best way to make sure your floor is really clean? Apparently a lot of people have been doing it wrong all these years; we know the solution!
