This Saturday they carry out the second day of free detection of thyroid diseases in Encarnación

Asunción, IP Agency.- With the support of the Ministry of Health, today they are carrying out the second day of free detection of thyroid diseases in Encarnación with the objective of detecting various thyroid pathologies and providing a timely diagnosis for effective treatment. This is an initiative of the Paraguayan Society of Endocrinology and Metabolism, the Paraguayan Society of Radiology and Imaging, the Paraguayan Society of Ultrasound and the Paraguayan Society of Pathology and Cytology.

The Minister of Health, María Teresa Barán, highlighted the importance of working in an integrated way to reduce gaps in access to specialized services. She pointed out that this initiative not only seeks to improve access to these services, but also to leave installed capacity in the services affected by these activities.

The president of the Paraguayan Society of Endocrinology and Metabolism (SPEM), Fabiola Romero, highlighted that the days include campaigns to detect thyroid diseases in different cities, as well as endocrinological consultations in hospital reference centers throughout the country. She thanked the support of various institutions and invited the population to participate in the scheduled activities.

This SPEM initiative has been carried out for several years, within the framework of “International Thyroid Month.” The campaign not only aims to detect and treat thyroid diseases, but also to educate the population about the importance of thyroid health care and promote prevention and self-care.

Before the start of the day, Barán held a brief meeting with the work team with the participation of professionals from various medical specialties.
