This totally false rumor circulating in the media

People and royalty

The rumor had been circulating for several weeks.

It has been almost a month to the day that Queen Elizabeth II died of old age after more than 70 years of reign. Since then, the public has been eagerly awaiting the coronation of the new king, Charles III, the date of which has recently been published. Only downside, it would be incorrect, at least according to Buckingham Palace.

It is indeed the date of June 3, 2023 which had been announced in various media, in particular on the American channel Bloomberg. An extremely symbolic date since it would take place 70 years and one day after the coronation of Elizabeth II. However, a spokesman for King Charles III denied the rumour. Speaking to the Mirror, he said the date is “pure speculation”. He adds “that no official date has yet been publicly announced for the coronation of Charles III” and that it is also “unlikely” that this will be the case “for several months”.

All we can be sure of for now is that the king’s coronation will take place in Westminster Abbey, where the coronation of Elizabeth II also took place. The ceremony will however be “shorter, smaller and less expensive” has already announced the new monarch. A more modern British monarchy that is more aware of the crisis the people are going through? Maybe…
