MEXICO CITY.- A few minutes before the first Presidential Debate of the 2024 electoral process begins, Xóchitl Gálvez, Claudia Sheinbaum, Jorge Álvarez Máynez they are already in the National Electoral Institute (INE) along with their guests as leaders of their parties and family members.
This is the first time in 18 years that Andrés Manuel López Obradornow president of Mexico, will not participate as a presidential candidate.

At 5:54 in the afternoon, the official candidate Claudia Sheinbaum arrived at the INE facilities with her husband Jesús María Tarriba Unger.
A few minutes later the candidate of the ‘We Continue Making History’ coalition gave a message assuring that she is sure she will win the debate.
In her message she was accompanied by the national leader of Morena, Mario Delgado; Senator Ricardo Monreal and Gerardo Fernández Noroña.

Minutes before 7:00 at night, Xóchitl Gálvez arrived at the INE facilities by bicycle after cycling three kilometers.
“Hope has already changed sides,” she told the media upon arriving and said she was happy and encouraged.

At 7:00 at night, Álvarez Máynez arrived aboard the “phosphobus” and accompanied by members of Citizen movement.
“Everything is very good, I am very grateful to MC for allowing me to represent them here. To all the women and men who have supported me, I want to dedicate this debate,” was her only comment prior to the debate.
