Kherson residents urged to move to safer areas for winter

The World Health Organization’s regional director for Europe, Hans Kluge, has warned that winter will threaten the lives of millions of Ukrainians, following a series of devastating Russian strikes on the country’s energy infrastructure.

“To put it simply, this winter will raise the question of survival”, Mr. Kluge said in kyiv. Damage to Ukrainian energy infrastructure “are already having devastating effects on the health system and on the health of the population”he added.

In this context, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister responsible for the reintegration of temporarily occupied territories in Ukraine, Iryna Vereshchuk, called on the residents of Kherson, especially women, children and the elderly, to “evacuate for the winter to safer parts of the country”.

“Government offers free evacuation to Kryvyi Rih, Mykolaiv and Odessa, with possible relocation to Kirovohrad region, Khmelnytsky region or western regions of Ukraine”she announces on Telegram.
