Lady Gabriella Windsor’s husband, Thomas Kingston, was found dead last Sunday, February 25, at the age of 45, as reported by Buckingham Palace two days after his death, without going into further details about the businessman’s cause of death.

The body of the son-in-law of Michael of Kent, cousin of the late Queen Elizabeth II, was found in a house in Gloucestershire, west of England, without anything being able to be done for his life. An investigation was then opened to determine what could have caused his death. After hearing the bitter news, several local media outlets assured that there were no suspicious circumstances or other parties involved in his death.

Although a climate of speculation arose then around what happened, investigators have now confirmed Kingston’s cause of death. The investigation has concluded that the son of Martin and Jill Kingston died due to “a traumatic head injury” caused by a firearm that was a few meters from the body, as reported by People magazine.

Gloucestershire Coroner’s Court has ruled that Lady Gabriella Windsor’s husband died after being shot in the head at his parents’ home after having lunch with them. Police and paramedics were called to the scene after a family member called 911.

“He was found in a closed unit with a catastrophic head injury. A weapon was found at the scene,” Sky News correspondent Dan Whitehead reported on Twitter, now X, with the idea of offering more details about the death of Thomas Kingston.

Thomas Kingston worked in the private banking sector and, given his position, had participated in diplomatic missions with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. In fact, he was part of the negotiations to free hostages in Iraq.

Before meeting Lady Gabriella, Thomas was considered one of the most eligible bachelors in British high society. In fact, before starting his relationship with the second cousin of King Charles III, he had another affair with a person related to the Windsors. This is Pippa Milddleton, sister of Princess Kate, with whom he appeared at Wimbledon in 2011.

That courtship only lasted a few months, but subsequently Thomas and Pippa maintained a close friendship and she did not miss his wedding with Gabriella, held on May 18, 2019 at St. George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle. The event was attended by a long list of guests from British royalty, including Queen Elizabeth II, Prince Harry and Princess Beatrice of York, along with her partner, Edoardo Mapelli, and her mother, Sarah Ferguson.
