The numbers are not a big surprise: a survey by Statistics Austria shows that people with higher school education in Austria have a significantly higher life expectancy on average. Among other things, this may be due to the fact that better living conditions and a greater awareness of a healthy lifestyle mean that they are less likely to be affected by certain illnesses and accidents. The new data shows a difference of more than seven years for men: Today, 35-year-old men with a university degree live an average of 84 years old, those with compulsory schooling only around 77. With these parameters, women live an average of around 87 or 83 years old.
