For the 14th time, tomorrow, Friday, tens of thousands of people will take to the streets worldwide for the international climate strike organized by the organization “Fridays For Future”. There are also demonstrations in Austria for more climate protection – especially in Vienna, the organizers expect “thousands of participants”. The main demand is directed at Federal Chancellor Karl Nehammer (ÖVP). This should immediately convene a “national climate disaster summit”.
The protest is supported by a number of organizations, artists and scientists. Eleven demonstrations will take place across Austria, with the largest one again expected in Vienna. The start is at 12:00 p.m. at the Wien-Mitte train station, the final rally is planned from 4:00 p.m. at Heldenplatz. At the beginning of March, according to “Fridays For Future”, 30,000 people across Austria took to the streets for more climate protection during the 13th climate strike.
