New Delhi: The BCCI has banned journalist Boria Majumdar for two years for threatening Indian wicketkeeper-batsman Vriddhaman Saha for an interview. Boria Majumdar has been banned by the BCCI for two years for threatening Wriddhiman Saha, the ANI news agency confirmed on Twitter.

Wriddhiman Saha is currently under contract with the BCCI. Saha, who alleged that he was threatened by a journalist for refusing to be interviewed on February 23, also shared screen shots of the threatening message on social media.

The BCCI had appointed a three-member panel comprising Vice President Rajeev Shukla, Treasurer Arunda Dhumal and a high-level committee member Prabhtej Bhatia to look into Saha’s complaint. Saha and Majumdar appeared before the committee last month. Majumdar alleged that Saha had fabricated evidence against him.

The move comes after the committee found Majumdar guilty. During the 2 year period of the ban, the following will apply to Majumdar;

Journalists are not accredited to cover local / international matches in India.
