Located in Flemish Brabant, the two schools were evacuated this Thursday morning, according to the Nieuwsblad. The students are currently in the De Tumkens sports hall. “All our services are on site and are combing the buildings with a fine-tooth comb. A dog specializing in explosives was also dispatched to the scene. It might be a prank, but we cannot rule anything out,” confirmed Jan Van Avont from the BRT police zone.
“This morning a threatening note was found in the school. We immediately began the evacuation. It went smoothly. The students are not too worried and everyone is safe in the gym . Meanwhile, the police are combing all the buildings,” explained Mayor Bert Ceulemans (Ensemble)
Two supermarkets and a building located opposite the school were also evacuated.
