Three Delhaize stores were again blocked on Saturday morning due to protest actions by employees, supermarket chain spokesman Roel Dekelver and Setca said. All the stores are located in Wallonia: in Marcinelle and Montigny-le-Tilleul in Hainaut and in Haccourt in the province of Liège. Despite the absence of an order, bailiffs are dispatched to the scene, said Mr. Dekelver.
Delhaize employees have been opposing for months the lion brand’s decision, announced on March 7, to franchise the 128 stores that are not yet franchised.
