BEIJING, July 10 (Xinhua) — Monday (July 10), official figures show that the Three Gorges Hydroelectric Power Station which is located in the middle of the Yangtze River of China More than 1.6 trillion kWh of electricity has been generated in the 20 years since the first unit was commissioned for electricity generation in July 2003.

clean energy produced by the station over the past two decades It is expected to equate to more than 480 million tonnes of standard coal-fired power generation and reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 1.32 billion tonnes, playing a role in helping China build a clean, low-carbon, safe and efficient energy system.
