Three IGAs dance on TikTok to attract employees

In order to attract workers, the owner of three IGA branches on the South Shore of Quebec posted a video on TikTok in which four employees have their pools going.

Their little dance put online this week has already been seen by more than 275,000 Internet users.

“We take whatever we can find. We took TikTok to try to go and recruit young people, “said TVA Nouvelles the director of human resources for the IGA Veilleux group, Annie Lamontagne.

“We try to do our best by being original and proactive,” she adds.

In addition, the company claims to have received several text messages from young people wishing to apply. Four hires have been made so far.

“They saw the video, they want to join our team and have a great employee experience,” says Annie Lamontagne.

The three IGAs concerned, located in Lévis, Sainte-Marie and Saint-Apollinaire, are looking for 50 employees for full-time and part-time positions.

Since the publication of the video, the owner of the three grocery stores claims to have received several calls from young people who welcomed the initiative.
