Versailles (AFP) – Three men in their twenties were arrested on Wednesday morning in the Paris region and then placed in police custody in the investigation into the attack in November on PSG midfielder Kheira Hamraoui, said the Versailles prosecutor’s office.
They were arrested “at their home” and then placed in police custody in the premises of the judicial police of Versailles, indicated the prosecution, which specified that “at least one of them has a criminal record” .
According to a source familiar with the matter, these three young men are suspected of having participated in the attack on Kheira Hamraoui in November 2021 in Chatou in the Yvelines.
One of the men was arrested in Yerres in Essonne, while the other two were arrested in Villeneuve-Saint-Georges, in Val-de-Marne, said this source familiar with the matter to AFP.
On November 4, 2021, Kheira Hamraoui was attacked with iron bars by two men, in front of one of her teammates, Aminata Diallo.
The hypothesis of a rivalry between the two Paris Saint-Germain players, who play in the same midfield position, was initially considered.
Aminata Diallo and one of her friends, imprisoned in Lyon, had been placed in police custody by the judicial police of Versailles before coming out free, without charge.
