Three million in yellow; Kerala Blasters with 30 lakh followers on Instagram | Kerala Blasters FC with 30 lakh followers on Instagram

Kochi: Kerala Blasters FC has become the first Indian football club to be followed by 3 million people on Instagram. Of the sports clubs, only five IPL teams have 30 lakh or more followers in India. This record proves once again the strength of the Malayalee football community in Kerala and outside Kerala.

From the pre-season camp which started in August last season, the Kerala Blasters explained everything about the team comprehensively to its fans through social media without a break. The training of the stars, the celebrations in the hotel rooms during the bio-bubble times, the ride on the team bus..everything was constantly conveyed to the fans through Instagram.

Another major intervention on social media was the portrayal of the ‘yellow man’ by Blasters as a fan spokesperson. Through the yellow-masked yellow man, the fans learned about what was going on inside the team and the new information that cemented the warm relationship between the fans and the team.

Last season’s three kits were meant to represent three different eras. Jerseys were a symbol of the past, present, and future. The home kit was dedicated to the Kerala team that won the Santosh Trophy for the first time in 1973. Kerala Blazers also released a special documentary in honor of the players of the day. The away kit was a testament to the excellence of the current team. The theme was that it was the time of the new Blasters under the new coach.

The third kit was meant to indicate that the future was yours. It was meant to represent kids with football passions. Fans who bought the kit were also given seeds along with it. Along with this, a special note was given on the eco-friendly paper. In it, fans can write down their dreams. The seeds were sown and posted on social media. The Kerala Blazers were runners-up in the 2021-22 Hero ISL season under new coach Ivan Vukomanovich. It was also Ivan’s first season in India.

The club’s notable achievements over the past year on its way to three million followers on Instagram are:
