Three National Police agents in the commune of Úcua, in the province of Bengo, were arrested and are being interrogated because they were accused of the crime of sexual abuse, which was the victim of a pregnant woman who did not have the money to pay the bail of the husband detained

Confirmation of the arrest of the three Police officers was given to OPAÍS by the spokesperson for the Ministry of the Interior in Bengo, Gaspar Luís Inácio, after learning, via social media and media outlets, of the news that the outstanding colleagues in the commune of Úcua they are being accused of having sexually raped a pregnant woman, because she did not have thirty thousand kwanzas to release her husband, detained by the agents in question.

It is assumed, according to the spokesperson, that the incident occurred on December 21, 2023, with the alleged victim filing a criminal complaint with the Dande municipal criminal investigation section, two days later.

“Given the seriousness of the matter, the Criminal Investigation Service, in coordination with the National Police, carried out measures that culminated in the arrest of the alleged offenders, who were presented to the Public Prosecutor’s Office for legal proceedings, with the competent criminal case being opened , which carries out its procedures at the PGR with SIC/Bengo”, he clarified.

Gaspar Inácio also said that, in addition, a disciplinary procedure is underway in the Inspection Directorate of the Bengo Provincial Command of the PN, where work is being done to determine the veracity of the facts and take disciplinary measures.

To conclude, and because the fact is already being dealt with in court, without further data, he added that, if it is proven that the agents in question committed a crime, they will be punished in accordance with the Disciplinary Regulations of the National Police.
