On the authority of Fawasel Publishing and Distribution House in Latakia, the Arabic translation of three long stories by the French writer and novelist Emmanuel Boeuf was published, within one book, and their titles are as follows: “Raskolnikov – a father and his daughter – the runaway,” and it was completed by the Lebanese poet and translator Bahaa I’ali, who previously announced it on his personal page on Facebook said that he is in the process of working on translating the writer’s complete works, as he has translated two of his books in the past: “The Obsession” and “The Single.”

In this book, which extends over 150 middle pages, Bove draws the scene of his events in the city of Paris, which is the city that was the scene of the events of most of his novels, and there is a theme that the three heroes of these stories share, like the various works of the author of “The Obsession,” which is Misery, not specifically material and life misery, because we will find that two out of three heroes belong to a relatively acceptable class level, but psychological and intellectual misery, which is the most dangerous of all. It is worth noting that, recently, interest in the Arab owner of “My Friends” has increased.
Emmanuel Popovnikov, who was known literary as Emmanuel Boeuf, was born in Paris in 1898 to a Russian Jewish father who immigrated from Ukraine. He published several popular novels under the pseudonym “Jean Valois”, and then moved to work in journalism. He published his first novel, “My Friends,” under his own name in 1924, and it met with great success, followed by subsequent works. In 1942, during the Nazi invasion of France, he fled to Algeria, where he wrote his last three novels: “The Trap”; “Leaving at night”; “Nowhere”. After the liberation of France, he returned to Paris in poor health and died there in 1945.
