Kochi: It is reported that a pre-poll survey has been conducted regarding the by-election in Thrikkakara. The Chief Electoral Officer had issued a stern warning not to conduct such a survey before the election. It is learned that the survey was conducted through WhatsApp. The Ernakulam District Collector said that strict action will be taken against the culprits after the incident is reported and the information has been handed over to the police.

It is suggested that any election matters including opinion polls related to Thrikkakara by-election and any other election survey should not be shared through electronic media. It was also banned from showing from 6pm on the 29th to 6pm on the 31st.
